Questions

Before you enrol

Short answers to what people ask most — including study permits.

All FAQs
Is this school for study-permit purposes?

No. Maple Bridge Language Academy is not a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), so our courses cannot be used to apply for a study permit, and we do not issue letters of acceptance.

Rules on who may study in Canada, and whether a short course needs a permit, are set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and change from time to time. Please check your own situation on canada.ca before you enrol. We cannot give immigration advice.

Do your courses count as proof of language for IRCC?

No. IRCC accepts results only from approved third-party tests (for example CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training or TEF Canada — see IRCC for the full, current list). We offer exam preparation; we are not an official test centre.

Can I try a lesson first?

Yes. Book a trial lesson in the studio or online. We check your level and recommend a course — with no obligation to enrol.

How do I know my level?

Every learner takes a placement test and a short entry assessment. For a quick indication, try the free online level test.

Do prices include HST?

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars plus HST (13% in Ontario). Course materials are included.
